Do you have acne problems? Don't underestimate the problem of acne. An intelligent student in the UK committed suicide by hanging himself because of depression caused by severe acne. This was revealed in an official inquiry (inquest) on Monday (27/02/2012) local time.
The girl, Melissa Martin-Hughes (18) committed suicide in a park in Gloucestershire, in April 2010. In Britain, the inquest is a judicial inquiry in a common law jurisdiction, which was conducted to determine the cause of someone's death.
Grammar School students in Pate is known as an intelligent student. He was studying for college preparation. But Melissa's life began to deteriorate due to the age of 14 years the face and upper body suffering from severe acne.
To treat severe acne, Melissa awarded a controversial drug Roaccutane and then taking the contraceptive pill to reduce the severity of skin conditions. Both drugs are known to trigger depression.
Since then, Melissa began to hurt yourself. In August 2009, he attempted suicide at Beachy Head, Sussex. But survived after police found him crying.
Age of this incident, Melissa's parents treat their children in mental health care center. But according to an official investigation, mental care for service center failed Melissa. Melissa's body was found hanged himself eight months after initiation of mental treatment.
On March 2010, Melissa had visited Dr Simon Riley at Cheltenham. At that time, Melissa complained of fatigue and unable to attend school. He asked Riley how to arrive at school on time because he was often late after a long wearing makeup to cover acne.
But the doctor failed to see the broader picture. He also did not ask or tell Melissa about depression that make acne drugs a bad mood.
A month later, 26 April 2010, Melissa ended her life. Melissa's parents, who found her son not in the room, call the police. A passerby found the body of Melissa hanging in a tree in Gloucestershire at 10:30.
Around the tree and found a school bag Melissa's cell phone. The results of the autopsy report stated the cause of death is found hanged himself, and no alcohol or drugs in his blood. It is quoted from the Huffington Post, Tuesday (28/02/2012).
In a statement read in the investigation, the school principal Shaun Fenton Pate Grammar School paid tribute to students who can learn Spanish, French, and Chemistry. "He's mature, reliable, responsible, intelligent, amazing and simple," says Fenton.
Supposedly, Melissa went to Chile prior to continuing education to York University. The plan at the university, he studied environmental chemistry. The investigation lasted for two days.
